What are the main factors affecting the application of tool holder in high speed cutting

Faced with the challenge of flexible and efficient production in modern manufacturing industry, the increasingly fierce market competition and the pressure of reducing manufacturing costs, high-speed cutting has become the key point to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturing industry. High-speed cutting is different from traditional processing. In contrast, the spindle speed of high-speed cutting is higher, the cutting feed speed is higher and the cutting amount is smaller, but the material removal amount per unit time increases by 3-6 times. It is characterized by high efficiency, high precision and high surface quality. It has been widely used in automotive industry, aerospace, die manufacturing, electronic industry and instrumentation industry. It is an important component of modern advanced manufacturing technology.

High-speed cutting technology can effectively shorten the production cycle and reduce the processing cost, but in actual processing, sometimes its processing effect does not achieve the desired goal. Of course, there are many reasons, but one of the key factors is that the tool holder matched with the high-speed spindle is not selected correctly. The high-speed operation of machine tool spindle can not achieve the expected performance without proper tool holder matching. It may also damage the precision bearing of machine tool spindle and reduce the life of machine tool. If we want to obtain satisfactory machining accuracy in high-speed cutting, we have to choose the appropriate tool holder, which often fails to attract people's attention. But in fact, as a tool holder which plays an important role in connecting the spindle of machine tool and cutting tool, whether the parts manufactured meet the requirements of relevant standards or become waste and inferior products or not. It plays a decisive role in the rapid wear and tear of the cutting tools used, the long-term use of the cutting tools, the expected high efficiency of the cutting tools used, and the prolongation of the effective processing time of the machine tools and tools.

The main factors affecting the above effects are the accuracy, dynamic balance, rigidity and clamping force of the tool handle. Therefore, in determining the use of high-speed cutting, we should be able to correctly select a suitable tool holder system for high-speed cutting in a variety of tool holder systems. Concentricity and radial runout should be given priority when considering the standard of tool holder. The purpose of ensuring concentricity is to make the tool and spindle rotate correctly around the same axis, which is independent of the form of the spindle. According to different spindle standards, HIPPSC has developed independently BT-GER high-speed tool holder with technical patents, BT-GSK high-speed tool holder, HSKGER high-speed tool holder and HSK-GSK high-speed tool holder. These two different types of tool holder systems can meet the requirements of high-speed cutting and have been applied in the electronics, die and auto parts industry, and achieved good processing results.
